The War on Cyber Terror?
by Zachary Davidson
April 16th, 2008
In an exclusive rawstory report by John Byrne, indications of a Department of Homeland Security-backed, 'Manhattan Project'- scale cyber-security database is being constructed under the auspices of preventing cybernetic warfare and protecting cyber security.
"At a speech to hundreds of security professionals Wednesday, Chertoff declared that the federal government has created a cyber security "Mahattan Project." "( in reference to the 1941-1946 project led by the Army Corps of Engineers for the purposes of developing American’s first atomic bomb.)
With the prevalence of the internet, new forms of secretive, web-based scrutiny will be exercised against the very constituencies that threaten the infrastructure of the security control grid: the populous. Michael Chertoff is implicating the entirety of internet users as potential cyber-terrorists in much the same way that the Bush administration included the American populous as potential terrorists during the passing of the PATRIOT acts, Homeland Security acts, Presidential Directives 51-64, Military Commissions Act, and the John D. Warner Defense Authorization Acts. And because of these cyber terrorists, a clandestine weapon has been constructed against these terrorists for the purposes of protecting against these terrorists. Of course, the questions of who is a terrorist? what constitutes terrorist behaviour? who is being protected at whose expense? and who stands to gain from the broadbased surveillance of all internet activity? obviously remain unsatisfactorily answered.
""In January, President Bush signed a presidential order expanding the role of DHS and the NSA in government computer security...its contents are classified, but the U.S. Director of National Intelligence has said he wants the NSA to monitor America’s internet traffic and Google searches for signs of cyber attack."
Chertoff's justification is as follows: "Imagine, if you will, a sophisticated attack on our financial systems that caused them to be paralyzed. It would shake the foundation of trust on which our financial system works."
The implication of this is that the role of government extends to include not only the syndicated protection of financial systems, but the preeminent prevention of such catastrophes.
The orthodox definition of fascism is corporatism; the systematic integration of governmental legislative and enforcement powers, corporate agendas and financial institutions.
RFID expansion
By Zachary Davidson
April 16th, 2008
In a recent article released by the Wall Street Journal, reports of Radio Frequency Identification becoming more prevalent , profitable and common place are supported by the rapid expansion of an upstart technology firm that specializes in the technology.
" RFID, a more-sophisticated successor to bar codes, is used for applications such as preventing shoplifting of garments in stores and handling payments at bridge toll gates. Applying identification tags to pallets and boxes of goods has been touted as a better way to track inventories at retailers, manufacturers and other companies. But adoption has been slower than some companies expected, because of conversion costs and other issues."
The technology of tracking devices has expanded and continues to prove beneficial for not only the prevention of audits and shoplifters, but for more clandestine, surveillance purposes. With enhanced technological tracking capacities, these chips may be 'read' from locations at quite a distance from the chip itself.
"Each of the company's receivers can manage signals from 512 transmitters -- each as far as 600 feet away, Mr. Sadr said. The resulting coverage area can be up to 250,000 square feet, or about 100 times the coverage area of previous systems based on conventional tag readers, he added. Mojix isn't disclosing exact pricing, but estimates that a network based on its technology will cost 20% to 25% less than other typical RFID systems as well as offer more-sophisticated capabilities."
The presence of RFID has been heralded by a number of economic, scientific and medical institutions as worthy developments in fields pertaining to product and consumer safety, tracking potential health risks as well as national security applications. They are sold to be devices of greater efficiency and convenience and proport to enhance security.
Generally speaking, it is a good idea to be skeptical about something that promises to protect you for a price.
300 Brazilian Women Destroy Monsanto Corn Crops in Brazil
By Zachary Davidson
March 11th, 2008
In a March 7th San Paulo AFP article routed to Terra Daily news reported 300 women who broke into a US owned Monsanto nursery and plant propogation facility and wreaked havoc on the genetically modified plants. It took police 30 minutes to arrive on the scene in San Paulo Brazil, long after the women had left. In San Paulo, the Landless Workers' Movement representative Igor Foride said that the " The Brazilian government had caved in to pressure from agrobusinesses" for allowing genetically modified crops owned and propogated by US agrobusiness giant Monsanto into their country.
"In Brasilia, a protest by another 400 women from an umbrella group, Via Campesina (the Rural Way), was held in front of the Swiss embassy against Syngenta, a Swiss company that is selling genetically modified seeds in Brazil. The demonstrators called attention to an October 2007 incident in which private guards working for Syngenta killed a protester taking part in an occupation of land owned by the company. Via Campesina said in a statement that "no scientific studies exist that guarantee that genetically modified crops won't have negative effects on human health and on nature. It added that on Tuesday, another 900 of its members had entered a property owned by the Swedish-Finnish paper giant Stora Enso and ripped out non-modified eucalyptus saplings they claimed were illegally planted." UK government installing DNA database for children and adults by stealth
By Zachary Davidson
March 11th
In a March 9th Article written by Matthew Hickley in the Daily Mail, reports of Britain's DNA database include more than 1.5 million children and adults.
"Around 1.5million ten to 18-year-olds will have had their genetic profiles stored by this time next year, bolstering claims that the Government is moving towards a DNA database of all adults "by stealth".
It has been standard protocol since 2004 in the UK for police officers to take DNA samples of arrested youth ages 10-18 regardless of whether the arrest results in a charge, conviction or sentence. This is supposedly a necessary effort to track criminal behaviour throughout Britain.
"The Government has played down the issue of juvenile DNA sampling but confirmed last year that the profiles of 358,000 children were on the register. But analysis by the campaign groups Action on Rights for Children and Genewatch has found that the figure conceals a far larger DNA-gathering operation, since the profiles of juveniles who have since turned 18 are no longer counted in the official total. With 170,000 youths a year being added to the database, campaigners claim the real figure will soar to at least 1.5million within the next year."

Genetic surveillance and predatory panopticonic measures will continue to be implemented against entire nations of people so long as authoritarian governments and state sponsored science/technology institutions have a desire for mass control and the people conform to the psychology of learned helplessness. Economic terrorism on the rise in the US
March 10th
By Zachary Davidson
Amidst the War on Terror and the seemingly endless pursuit of the boogey-man terrorist network Al-Qaeda, an increasing amount of domestic attacks have ensued on US soil. In a recent article by Tim Ayers on Times online, the reemergence of eco-terrorist cells in the US are resulting in the destruction of large-scale property projects. Members of The Earth Liberation Front are cited as some of the top most wanted criminals on the FBI list.
"According to the FBI, the ELF - the members of which are known unofficially as the Elves - has been responsible for more than 1,200 criminal acts in the US, with the cost of their “ecotage” close to $100 million. Some estimates put the figure at twice that amount".
The formation of the Earth Liberation Front occured 16 years ago in Brighton when a group of radical environmentalists chose to create a disbanded, decentralised network of individuals who sought to put an end to environmental abuse and degradation through destructive means if possible.
"When the ELF was created in 1992 by members of Britain's law-abiding Earth First! group, it was designed to operate under the same leaderless, hard-to-prosecute, resistance-style principles as the Animal Liberation Front, which also engaged in direct action and sabotage. Within two years ELF cells had emerged in continental Europe and by the mid-1990s they had spread to Canada and the US."
Prior to these most recent sabotages was the firebombing of a Hummer dealership in California, a firebombing of a $50 million highrise apartment building in San Diego and an arson attack an a $12 Million dollar Vail Ski Resort in Colorado.
The most recent attacks have included an arson attack of a newly constructed $7 million dollar research facility at the University of Washington that was allegedly genetically modifying poplar trees and the firebombing of The Street of Dreams, a multi-million dollar eco-mansion development in Seattle, WA. These mansions were constructed near Wetlands and a river basin where a rare species of Salmon migrate and reproduce.
No one has been physically harmed or killed as a result of these attacks. So far, there have been no arrests since the attacks, but there are certainly responses from the architectural chief of the homes.
“If you stop and think about the lives that you're touching when you do something like this, it's unbelievable selfishness,” Grey Lundberg, who built the homes, said. “It's so ironic. We were trying to demonstrate a better way to build.”
This kind of response was obviously taken into account by ELF activists. An early ELF statement reveals the extent to which these projects must be put to an end.
"There are over six billion people on this planet, of which almost a third are starving or living in poverty,” an early ELF statement said. “Building homes for the wealthy should not even be a priority. The time has come to decide what is more important: the planet and the health of its population or the profits of those who destroy it."

Whatsoever your position is on the issue, the fact remains that there is a growing discontent being acted upon against the prevailing economic practices in developing nations that will not cease so long as the status quo is maintained. Quite the contrary, sabotage is going to increase, possibly at alarming rates especially in the United States if any of the existing mainline presidential candidates are elected. Indeed, virtually any implementation of executive policies that reflect their respective voting records will result in the perpetuation of the dominant politico-economic paradigm by incrementally expanding supranational collusion, the military industrial complex, genetic surveillance/police states, coercive, credit-based, economic participation and elite, globalistic resource consolidation. This infrastructure is very much in place and is continuing to develop in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
In an age of conquest-by-stealth and power- by- design, revolution must become ever more subtle, ever more subdued, and ever more subversive. Indeed, the possibility for radical transformation will only be brought about by the quietly-organized, mass participation of leaders who are hardly known. The manifestation of clandestiny amongst the people could revitalize the revolutionary potential amidst the mounting presence of the control grid. Certainly violence may not be the way to dissolve the existing modes of oppression, however it may be a viable accompaniment to other subtler tactics related to mass refusal and unidentification with current domestication processes endemic to prevailing economic arrangements.
